An enthusiastic and innovative English teacher is required to help drive forward Therfield’s cohesive and ambitious English Department. The department is a leading area within the school that regularly and significantly exceeds national benchmarks in terms of both progress and outcomes, therefore the ideal candidate will be driven and ambitious and have high expectations of themselves and those around them. The English Department was well praised in the school’s recent Ofsted visit and achieved 86% best entry GCSE English 9-4 outcomes for students in the previous academic year and attributes its success to its long-term commitment to developing staff at every stage of their careers as Teachers of English. The successful applicant will be expected to teach English to GCSE and, ideally, should be able to teach a range of modules at A-level. Applications are welcome from full-time, part-time, NQTs and more experienced candidates.
