Job overview

Ours is a thriving school, oversubscribed for the fifth year. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join a highly successful team whose focus is always to inspire young people to achieve at the highest level possible.

You will be required to teach at least to GCSE with Post 16 teaching possible.

You will receive our full support and will be encouraged to develop professionally.

We would welcome applications from NQTs and experienced teachers. In addition, we would welcome applications from outstanding practitioners who are keen to further their career as a responsibility within the department may be available for a suitably qualified candidate. The specific area of focus will be determined based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

Tor Bridge High is a secondary mainstream school for girls and boys aged between 11 and 18. It was converted to academy status in August 2011. It is a non-denominational establishment. Tor Bridge High is based in the town of Estover in Plymouth, Devon. The school is in partnership with Plymouth University. It is also in partnership with Plym Bridge Nursery School, Cann Bridge School and Plym Bridge Nursery School.

Values and Vision

Tor Bridge High school’s motto is “stronger together, creating better futures”. In sixth form the school offers children the opportunity to study BTECs, A levels and OCR Nationals. The curriculum is balanced and prepares students for life in the modern world. Teachers aim to care for pupils in order to help them have personal development. Students are offered a wide range of opportunities at the academy. This includes the chance to gain a Baccalaureate in English.
