Job overview

Are you an experienced Food and Nutrition teacher wishing to develop your career in a school that’s prepared to do things differently?

At Focus School Linton Park Campus, we take a forward-looking and pioneering approach to education. While academic excellence has and always will be a priority, we challenge outdated educational practices with our Self-Directed Learning programme. We place the focus on how students are learning, rather than merely on what is being taught. Our cutting edge learning environment, the embeddedness of technology and ultimately our students are a testament to this.

We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, enthusiastic Food and Nutrition teacher, who understands how children learn. You will be adept at coaching our students to see and lead through challenges in their learning, so they make the best possible progress each and every lesson. This position is for 2-3 days per week (0.4 - 0.6 FTE).

The successful candidate will:

· Have Qualified Teacher Status and a degree or similar Food related qualification

· Be relentlessly positive, with a ‘can do’ attitude

· Understand that coaching a student is more powerful than telling them

· Have a diverse set of skills which will enable you to be flexible working in the classroom and our learning centre

· Be able to work creatively and strategically in an ‘all-through’ school

· Be an innovative and reflective practitioner who is keen to learn

· Committed to improving the life chances of every child

This position is open to NQTs.
