Teacher of French

TEACHER OF FRENCH 

Required September 2021 

We have an opportunity for a full time or part time (from 0.8FTE) Teacher of French. This is a permanent position. We welcome applicants from either selective or wide ability settings, who are keen to work with high achieving and motivated students. The successful applicant will be expected to have the ability to teach French up to and including A Level. Ability to teach Spanish (or German) would be an advantage but is not essential. The post is equally suitable for an NQT or a more experienced colleague looking for a new challenge. 

Students at Norton Knatchbull School have historically studied one of French, German or Spanish from Year 7 through to GCSE. Whilst we remain committed to all students studying one language to GCSE we have taken the decision to consolidate our languages teaching to two – Spanish and French – with the gradual growing out of German over the next few years. The Subject Leader for Languages will also lead Spanish; in addition there is a Subject Leader of French/German and an additional full time teacher of Spanish.

Deadline for application: Monday 10 May 2021. We reserve the right to interview prior to this date depending on applications received. The selection process will involve a teaching activity with students, an opportunity to meet with colleagues in the Department and a panel interview. Depending on Government guidance in relation to Covid-19 this may be carried out virtually.
