An opportunity to join the team at one of the UK’s leading all-boys boarding and day prep schools.

Horris Hill is an independent, boarding and day, academically selective prep school, for around 130 boys aged 4-13, set in 85 glorious acres on the outskirts of Newbury.   The school is renowned for its nurturing ethos, an approach that underpins the success that the boys show in all areas.  Our boys successfully move on to the most prestigious independent senior schools in the country.  

We are seeking, ideally for September 2020, but by January 2021, a Teacher of French - either full time or part time.   This is an opportunity for candidates with a variety of profiles.  We are very happy to support newly-qualified teachers and will allocate teaching groups accordingly; equally we will consider experienced candidates who wish to teach to scholarship and Common Entrance candidates.

All staff are expected to contribute to the games or non-sporting activities programme on a daily basis, and to boarding life, but inexperience in these areas will not be a disadvantage.  Enthusiasm for all aspects of school life will be a key quality of the successful candidate.

Horris Hill is entering an exciting time of expansion and growth. In September 2022 our beautiful all year-year round Nursery was opened and we opened our doors to girls into the lower school. Our staffing team are critical to the school’s continued success and you will be joining some excellent recent appointments. We welcomed our new Headmaster, Mr Rob Stewart to the school in September 2022. He has an outstanding track record including being a past Eton Housemaster before his first headship of a leading Prep School.
