To start in September 2019, we are seeking to appoint an experienced teacher or enthusiastic graduate to teach French part-time (up to 0.7) to at least IGCSE level. The ideal candidate must have a good university degree in French be fluent in spoken and written as well as being a regular visitor to France.
In the first year, the Head of French expects to offer the successful applicant a range of teaching opportunities throughout the age range.
French results in recent years have been strong (2017 results – IGCSE 65% A*/A; A level 100% A/B). The new teacher’s primary role will be to help maintain and improve upon this standard.
In addition to the teaching, the successful applicant will be expected to take a full part in the activities of the Department such as accompanying and organising cinema or theatre trips. In particular, a willingness to organise and accompany visits to France is essential. All members of the Department contribute to keeping resources up-to-date.
