Job overview

Teacher of French with Spanish

Senior School – Full Time

Required for: April/September 2023

At Gresham’s we offer a rare opportunity where children can join us at our Nursery and Pre-Prep School from the age of 2 and continue with their education at our Prep and Senior Schools to the age of 18. Our School is situated in the Georgian town of Holt and sits within 200 acres of glorious countryside. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with the Norfolk Broads and the North Norfolk Coast just a few miles away.

We are currently looking for an outstanding and experienced Teacher of French with Spanish to join a thriving and successful department on a permanent basis. The successful applicant will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is excited at the prospect of joining a strong academic team.

The teaching of French will be required at all levels from Year 9 to Sixth Form, including to both A-level and the IB Diploma, but there is more flexibility with the Spanish teaching. We will, however, consider strong applications from teachers of French, without the capacity to teach Spanish.

The role is suitable for an ECT or recent graduate who is keen to start a career in the independent boarding sector.

About Gresham's School

Gresham’s is a co-educational boarding and day school for children aged 2-18. It is situated in the Georgian town of Holt in beautiful countryside, just three miles from the breathtaking North Norfolk coast.

The school was founded in 1555 by Sir John Gresham who forged close ties with The Worshipful Company of Fishmongers. On his death, he left the school in their care and strong links with them and the City of London remain to this day.

The school enjoys a generous campus with excellent facilities including a state-of-the-art music building (Britten) with its own recording studio, indoor and outdoor performance spaces including a theatre (Auden), multi-surface sports pitches, tennis courts, swimming pool, sports hall and shooting range. The Dyson Building opened at Gresham’s in September 2021. Sir James Dyson, a former pupil at the school, enabled the innovative new centre for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education.

The school has an impressive list of Old Greshamians including the composer Benjamin Britten, the poet WH Auden, Oscar winning actress Olivia Colman and international rugby players Tom and Ben Youngs, to name but a few.
