Job overview

Farringdon Community Academy is keen to recruit a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Geography who is able to teach Key Stage 3 and 4. An ability to teach Citizenship, PSHCE and RE would be advantageous. The successful applicant will join the Faculty of Humanities and be expected to play a full role in the development of this curriculum area.

You should be committed to raising standards within the curriculum, as well as making a contribution to an extensive extra-curricular programme. You will be joining an experienced Humanities team with its own teaching base with excellent access to ICT to support teaching and learning with several dedicated ICT suites across the school.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate, through application letter and interview the ability to:
• have a desire to be an outstanding teacher
• Possess a passion for humanities education which you are able to share to inspire and motivate students of all ages and abilities
• be able to teach across the 11-16 age and ability range
• monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a Teacher and Form Tutor.
• facilitate and encourage learning experiences which provide students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
• help to develop an excellent, thriving Humanities department
