Job overview

We are seeking an imaginative, dynamic and well qualified individual to join the Geography Department in our academically selective girls’ boarding school. The successful candidate could be an experienced or newly qualified teacher, or an ambitious geography graduate, able to confidently deliver lessons up to A Level. The chance to undertake School Direct might be available to a recent graduate wishing to qualify as a teacher. An enthusiasm to contribute to the Co-Curricular life of this busy boarding school is essential and there are many chances to accompany trips abroad.

Benenden offers its own generous pay structure, responsibility allowances and benefits. All staff joining the school are eligible to apply for on-site accommodation.

Benenden is one of the leading independent schools in Britain. We were founded in 1923 and are situated in 250 acres of attractive parkland in Kent. There are 541 girls in the school, aged 11-18, with approximately 180 of those in the Sixth Form. Benenden is at the forefront of girls’ education in the UK, with recent innovations including the Benenden Diploma, a bespoke curriculum for our youngest two year groups, and the Professional Skills Programme, teaching the Sixth Form skills for the workplace. We are an ambitious school, with recent developments including a state-of-the-art Science Centre and All-Weather Sports Pitch, and we are currently working to establish a new School Hall and Music School.
