Job overview

Teacher of Geography R & R for exceptional candidate.

Closing date: Wednesday 23rd May 9.00 am

Interviews: Friday 25th May

We are looking to appoint a teacher of geography to join a superb team of staff and a fabulous department. We are a school where students are eager to learn and readily get involved in extra curricular activities.  Staff and students are highly ambitious but down to earth, approachable and honest.

It is an exciting time to join our school and the recent OFSTED inspection has acknowledged how proud we should be of our achievements and that staff morale is high.

We do have high expectations of staff and students, but we also expect them to be individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic, kindness and decency at every level. This is because we want all students to make really good progress and leave school with wonderful memories of their experiences. We want our staff to enjoy their work and really see the value in what they do.  In return we seek every opportunity to develop staff.  We expect an open mind and that staff take ownership of continually developing their own practice, try new things out but also not shy away from traditional methods that are proven to work.

The school is situated in Auckley near Robin Hood Airport. It is a lovely part of Doncaster and really easy to get to and from. Our teachers come from as far away as North Leeds, Sheffield, Scunthorpe and Nottinghamshire. It really is worth the journey.  We like living in this area because there is plenty to do and lots of open space.

If you are interested in applying please go to our website and download the application documents and further information. You are very welcome to visit the school before you apply and find out if you think you would fit in.

Please contact our HR Manager, Paula Kynman, 01302 770589, pky@thehayfieldschool.co.uk.

We look forward to receiving your application.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and an Enhanced DBS check will be required for this post.  We aim for diversity within our workforce.

Our aim as a school is to provide our students with a wide range of academic, creative and sporting opportunities which will enable them to develop into well rounded individuals who achieve academic success as well as the personal attributes required for the challenges of the 21st century.

School Ethos and Values

We are unashamedly traditional in the values we hold most dear: a strong work ethic; kindness; decency. These values are central to our culture and ethos, and professionals work hard to instil these simple values into our young people in order to prepare them for adulthood and the world of work. Our aim is to create confident individuals, life-long learners and responsible citizens who move to the next stage in their life having:

  • Fulfilled their academic potential
  • Developed essential personal skills and attributes
  • Grown resilience to face down challenges and setbacks

Our Curriculum Intent

We are really proud of our very carefully planned curriculum and believe that it goes over and above the statutory National Curriculum requirements.  We constantly reflect and review subject content and the GCSE offer taking into consideration how we can best prepare students both academically and personally for our ever-changing world.  It is vitally important to us that students have a broad experience and enjoy all their subjects experiencing rich opportunities to explore and develop their personalities.  Visit our website to find out more.
