TEACHER OF GEOGRAPHY

Permanent Full Time

From September 2018

We are looking for a passionate Geography teacher, with a real love for the subject, who is committed to inspiring our young people. Geography is very popular at GCSE and A level and has enjoyed some excellent results in the school. It is this success that has created the need for an extra teacher of the subject. Applications are invited from candidates with experience or those who are new to the profession. An ability to teach other Humanities subjects would be helpful.

Our Geography team are an exceptionally supportive and cohesive team, placing a strong emphasis on improving our practice as individuals and as a collective. As a department we use technology to enhance learning through the use of Google Apps for Education and chromebooks.

Situated five miles east of Oxford on a unique and historic parkland site, Wheatley Park School is a highly successful mixed 11 - 18 academy and proud member of the River Learning Trust

We are a vibrant and dynamic school with a track record of improvement and innovation in recent years. In June 2016 the school was graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted. We are now on the next part of our journey to becoming a sustainably ‘Outstanding’ school in accordance with our core values of Everyone Learning and Everyone Caring.

Our truly comprehensive intake is a mixture of both rural and urban with strong ethnic diversity. We work in effective partnership with parents and our local community to ensure our students are happy at school and motivated to succeed. Meanwhile, our staff work exceptionally well together, providing a collaborative and supportive professional ethos.

As a Google Reference School, we are proud to develop cutting-edge practice in the use of computers and IT in the classroom. All students have access to their own personal chromebook in order to support their learning.
