About the role
To deliver the Geography curriculum across a range of year groups including A level.
To work with the head of Faculty and Trust wide Geography Lead in the development and implementation of the curriculum.
To develop an effective, interesting and consistent approach to teaching History informed by evidence based ‘best bets’.
To promote the teaching of literacy through appropriate subject specific methodology.
To encourage a collaborative approach to teaching and learning between teachers.
To ensure curriculum provision is appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and is in accordance with academy policy and national guidance.
Permanent-Full time, 32.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Who we are looking for
A degree in Geography or closely related field.
Qualified Teacher Status.
Broad alignment with the values of the David Ross Education Trust and Charnwood College.
An open, honest and humble attitude towards work.
A desire to improve.
A deep respect for the school’s community and its values.
Familiar with recent developments in the teaching and learning of science including curriculum and pedagogical strategies for raising achievement.
Able to interpret and use assessment data to improve achievement

About Charnwood College
Charnwood College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, 11-18 academy with sixth form, situated in the west of Loughborough in Leicestershire. The academy is part of the David Ross Education Trust and is governed by a Local Governing Body.
The secondary academy has expressive arts facilities which include a dedicated music suite and dance and drama studio. In addition, its sports facilities include a floodlit, all-weather 3G sports pitch, a new sports centre, a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, a gym, a fitness suite, and extensive playing fields.
