At Forest Hill School, we challenge stereotypes about under-achieving boys. Are you up for the challenge?
Forest Hill is an oversubscribed 11-19 school which exists to serve the local community through innovative teaching and a broad and comprehensive curriculum offer in state-of-the-art facilities. We have a strong record of academic success which combined with our Performance Arts specialism underpins the development of our boys all the way to our co-educational post 16 provision. Geography is a large, thriving subject area which is one of our major option choices at KS4 and very popular at A-Level. We believe that excellent Geography provision balances academic rigour, fieldwork and a range of opportunities outside the curriculum, including a hugely popular trip to Iceland.
Our ideal candidate is;
•A Geography specialist, though ability to teach other Humanities subjects is desirable
•An outstanding teacher who combines a range of innovative teaching strategies with excellent relationships with young people
•A team player who works well with others and is dedicated to the success of their students
•Someone who looks for ways to improve themselves and the school and is not afraid of taking responsibility beyond their classroom
We will offer;
•The opportunity to work in an established and experienced school which challenges the stereotypes of underachieving boys in inner city London
•A personalised CPD programme that offers a range of opportunities to broaden your pedagogical experience and which seeks to support you in developing yourself for future leadership roles
•Modern, state of the art facilities, including staff laptops and the use of excellent ICT facilities with the students
Please visit our website at www.foresthill.lewisham.sch.uk to make direct on-line applications (no CVs only), which must be returned to email@example.com Informal visits are welcome – please contact the school to arrange with Faculty Lead, Mr Alan Brook.
