Full or Part Time to cover maternity leave

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to join the Geography Department in this highly academic selective girls’ grammar school. The department’s examination performance is well above the national average and we are committed to further improvement.
The successful candidate will have experience of teaching geography from KS3 to KS4. A commitment to fieldwork and good ICT skills are essential. The ability to teach geography to Advanced Level would be desirable.
This position could be maternity cover or a 1 year temporary contract depending on the applicant. Participation in extra-curricular activities and school trips is essential.

Welcome to Wirral Grammar School for Girls. We have been a
Grammar School educating girls aged 11-18 since 1931 and now have just over 1200 students, 300 of them in the sixth form.
The school is proud of its history of academic success and our results are consistently high, well above the national average with 75% 9-7 grades at GCSE and 75% A*-B grades at A Level. The school has topped the local and national league tables for the past fifteen years. We have recently received an 'outstanding' judgement from Ofsted (December 2022).
The school offers an inclusive learning community, with the highest standards of teaching and learning, where there is a lively buzz of activity and curiosity in the classroom. Girls are also provided with an enrichment programme to extend their learning outside the classroom, through clubs/societies and various leadership opportunities.
We have always fostered traditional values, notably self-discipline, community spirit and thoughtfulness for others resulting in outstanding relationships at the school.
Our pastoral care ensures students are well-supported and are guided through their journey at school. Wirral Grammar School for Girls is a vibrant learning community where everyone is valued and a culture of mutual respect exists.
