The Bulmershe School are looking to employ an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join a friendly and experienced humanities department. The candidate should have strong subject knowledge and an interest in curriculum development. They should be passionate about delivering the best possible geography curricula with a focus on raising student aspiration and attainment. Experience in teaching A level Geography would be highly desirable and would be considered as a valuable attribute. The post is suitable for experienced teachers, however, due to the supportive culture at The Bulmershe, this post may be suitable for a newly qualified teacher who feels they are ready to take on the challenge.
Specific duties and responsibilities
• Teach AQA A level Geography
• Teach Eduqas B Geography GCSE
• Teach to the Geography National Curriculum
• Participate in the planning and delivery of Geography Fieldwork
• Pro-active lesson planning and marking
Person specification
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• A-Level Geography teaching experience
• Experience of organising and leading geography fieldwork

The Bulmershe School is a heavily oversubscribed school which sits at the heart of the Woodley community. We are a mixed, Corvus Learning Trust Academy school of 1,500 students aged between 11 and 18, who come from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Teaching is good and sometimes outstanding. Lessons are well planned and paced so that students are engaged in their learning. Students’ behaviour, both in lessons and around the school, is very good. Students’ very positive attitudes to learning contribute to their good progress in lessons. The school is a harmonious community with good relationships between students and staff. Students feel very safe and the school promotes their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development well.”
