Changsha WES Academy (CWA) is a positive, enterprising truly International school which is located in Changsha city, Hunan province. CWA has a community with over 500 students and teachers who are from more than 26 countries and regions. CWA provides an international curriculum for children aged 3 to 19.

Candidates must:

• have a Bachelor degree or above

• have more than 2 years relevant teaching experience

Job Description

• teach students in a way that enables them to achieve high standards of learning

• contribute towards the provision of a dynamic, creative international learning environment

• actively participate in the development of the school .

• undertake long, medium and short term planning to ensure appropriate curriculum coverage according to the requirements of the IGCSE Global Perspectives curriculum and the IBDP TOK Subject Guide.

• take responsibility for preparing students for the TOK Exhibition, the TOK Essay, the GP Individual Report, the GP Team Project and the GP Written examination

• take responsibility for the logistical considerations in staging the TOK Exhibition and GP Team project

• ensure that student learning in classes is monitored, appropriately assessed and that the results of such assessment are used to enhance learning

• regularly report progress of students to parents

• undertake the role of a Homeroom teacher if required

• actively participate in the range of extra-curricular activities and programmes that take place outside the regular school day

• take part in designated school events, as defined by the school calendar

• undertake any other reasonable task that school leadership deems to be appropriate

Changsha Wes Academy, located in Changsha City in Hunan Province, China. We started in September 2011 and have continued to grow in student number and stature. The school is now open to students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 and will continue to grow offering IBPYP, IGCSE and A Levels. In such a small time, the school has become worked on developing an IB curriculum in the Primary. In addition, the school has well-equipped classrooms, a well-resourced sports department, dedicated science labs, music, art rooms and libraries. Most recently the school has completely overhauled its digital strategy to lay the foundations to further its position as a leader in associated technologies in the region. With this in mind we are now the only Microsoft School in middle China and only one of five for the whole of China. In the Secondary section, with the use of BYOD, students are working together to enhance learning opportunities where appropriate. In conclusion, Changsha Wes Academy is fully accredited member of the Council of International Schools.
