Post: Teacher of Health & Social Care
Salary: Up to £40k dependent on skills and experience
Start Date: As soon as possible
Having opened in our brand new multi-million pound building in September 2015 with record student numbers Health Futures UTC is pleased to offer an outstanding individual the opportunity to join us and help shape our next stage of development.
As the school is specifically for students interested in careers within the Health sector we have substantial specialist Health facilities which are used to provide practical context and experience which enriches our students’ learning. This ensures clear opportunities for all students to better understand the sector, professional roles within it and the experience of service users. As an outcome of this learning all of our students complete Health related technical qualifications at GCSE or ‘A’ level.
You will aspire to be an outstanding teacher of Health and Social Care but you may be an NQT or be early in your career. You will work within the Faculty of Health and be led by the Assistant Principal (Health) with whom you will design and tailor the curriculum to address our specialism and meet the needs and interests of our students.
Our state of the art brand new facilities will ensure you can fully embrace the range learning technologies and techniques available in our fast developing world. Working with a tight-knit group of committed staff, your professional opportunities will be second to none as we develop our provision together and ensure the best possible outcomes and experience for our students. This combined with our partnership with the University of Wolverhampton and other providers ensures that you will have every opportunity to develop your career and gain further qualifications.
Established with the backing of the University of Wolverhampton and in partnership with a wide range of health sector employer partners, including all West Midlands NHS Trusts, WM Ambulance Service and the Mid-counties Co-operative Pharmacy, Health Futures is responding to the identified skills gap that is preventing local young people taking up the varied and valuable career paths in this sector.
As the welfare and safeguarding of our pupils is paramount, this post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
