A well-qualified, inspiring and dynamic graduate is required to teach History and Politics. We have one of the largest and most successful Sixth Form Departments for History in the UK with over 40% of girls studying one or other subject. 35 girls study IB History, 55 do A Level History and 30 take Politics at A Level. 80% of the GCSE cohort study History. The Department enjoys a high reputation for good teaching and dedicated support of the girls amongst the pupil and parental bodies.

The successful applicant will join a dedicated team of professionals in a department that is well-resourced, and where full support with induction and CPD is provided. The Department is proud of its lively and collaborative approach and aims to get the best from its students in ways that are intellectually demanding, creative and stimulating.

All teachers are expected to contribute to the rich co-curricular life of the College, but there are no residential duties.

Applications are welcome from graduates and teachers from either the independent or maintained sector. This post is suitable for an experienced GCSE and A level/IB teacher of History and Politics who also has experience of teaching Key Stage 3, or for a suitably qualified graduate with the potential to be an outstanding teacher. For a suitably qualified graduate, an earlier start may be considered with in-post training in the Autumn term in preparation for teaching a full timetable in the Spring Term.
