Teacher of History and Politics

Fortismere SchoolHaringey

History and Politics are much loved subjects by students at Fortismere and History remains one of the most popular option subjects at GCSE and A Level. Politics is delivered at Key Stage 5 and again is a very popular subject choice for our students. Students are taught by an experienced and passionate team of specialist History and Politics teachers who work collaboratively in this highly successful Department. We are looking to appoint a new member of team who can join us to inspire, motivate and support our young historians to reach their potential and take the knowledge, skills and understanding we develop in them onto the next stage of their lives.

The Department sits within the wider setting of a high-attaining, mixed foundation secondary school in the heart of Muswell Hill, North London with a strong tradition of excellence.  Our school vision is one which sees education, and the opportunities we make available, as having the potential to transform the lives of our young people.

The successful candidate will be a passionate historian and demonstrate qualities of an outstanding teacher (NQTs very welcome). They will put students at the heart of what they do and work with us as we continue to strive for excellence.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. All successful applicants will be required to undertake a criminal record check via the DBS prior to appointment.
