About the opportunity

History is part of the Humanities Faculty. In this curriculum area History is taught from Key Stage 3 up to A level and the history team are a driving force behind the delivery of Politics A level. 

For an outstanding candidate with the appropriate experience, there will be opportunities for promotion and the chance to take on wider roles with a TLR. We would also welcome applications from NQTs who would benefit from our long pedigree in training and supporting staff in the early part of their career. We have an excellent induction programme for NQTs and offer ongoing training through the early years of your career. We are also part of a partnership of schools which deliver the NPQ middle and senior leadership programmes through the institute of Education, and support our staff to undertake this training.

About Plumstead Manor School

Plumstead Manor is a thriving and popular secondary school located in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. There has been a school on our site since 1913, with the first 105 years as a girls’ school. In response to local demand we admitted our first mixed cohort in 2018 and gradually move to being fully co-educational by 2022. 

We are a large, inclusive, comprehensive school and have capacity for 1,500 students aged 11-18. We have our own Sixth Form of around 300 students and welcome students from our own cohort as well as students from within the local area. Our students progress onto the full range of future pathways, including medicine and veterinary science courses at the most competitive universities and high-quality apprenticeships.
