Teacher of History
For September 2021, we are looking to appoint an inspirational and innovative Teacher of History. Whilst History will be the main teaching subject, the ability to teach across the range of humanity subjects would be advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspirational teacher looking for a leadership position in the future.
Our staff are committed to enhancing their skills through coaching, Teaching and Learning and using evidence-based approaches to create expert lessons. We are currently using the Rosenshine principles and Teach Like A Champion to underpin our professional development.
The successful candidate must:
• Show the ability to be a/or become an excellent classroom practitioner
• Have high expectations of students in terms of learning, achievement and behaviour
• Enthuse students with a passion for their subject and inspire them to achieve the best they can
• Have enthusiasm for developing innovative and creative approaches to learning, teaching and student participation
• Have a clear understanding of the latest curriculum and pedagogical developments in History
• Have an ability to engage and motivate pupils
• Have a commitment to support our enrichment programme by facilitating co-curricular clubs
In return we are offering a highly attractive salary, along with the benefits of being part of United Learning, opportunities to share good practice and collaborate with colleagues across every phase of education.

United Learning
Hyndburn Academy is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.
Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.
As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
