We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher of History to join a successful department and faculty.  The History department aims to provide an interesting and challenging curriculum at both Key Stage 3 and GCSE. A wide range of teaching strategies are employed to ensure students are engaged in their learning, including drama, role play, discussion, extended writing, ICT and audio visual experience.  The development of both students’ skills and knowledge are treated with equal weighting and we aim to ensure students of all abilities are encouraged to develop a passion and interest in the subject.

The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and experienced Humanities department. The department is well resourced and housed in good accommodation with audio/visual facilities available, including Interactive White Boards in each classroom.

The opening would suit either an experienced teacher of History or provide an excellent first post for a hardworking and ambitious teacher who feels he/she has a lot to offer and a lot to learn. Our NQT support programme and induction is a strong feature of the school’s commitment to professional development. The successful candidate would be expected to deliver high quality lessons at Key Stage 3 and, for the right candidate, for the AQA History GCSE (America 1920-1973, Conflict and Tension 1918-1939, Normans 1066-1100 and Power and the People 1170-Present day)
