Required for September 2018, a well-qualified, ambitious and inspirational full-time Teacher of History for a maternity cover position.
The Department is extremely well resourced and occupies a suite of spacious and suitably equipped rooms in the Faculty area on the first floor of the new building. All classrooms have interactive whiteboards. There is good access to recently upgraded ICT rooms on all three floors.
Darrick Wood is a mixed eight-form entry outstanding school in Orpington, Kent. Having achieved the World Class Schools Quality Mark we continue to strive to provide the very best education for our pupils. As a designated Teaching School, we can provide you with a supportive teaching environment, and exciting development opportunities. The History Department is housed in dedicated classrooms in the Humanities Faculty. History is a very popular GCSE and A level subject. The School has an extensive Wi-Fi network and provides laptops for all staff.

About Darrick Wood School
Darrick Wood School is a mainstream, co-educational, non-denominational secondary academy for 1700 children aged 11-18. It is situated in Orpington, Kent. In its most recent inspection by Ofsted (January 2019) the School was judged as “Good” in all areas.
The school was founded in 1975. In June 2004, it was awarded specialist status in technology. In 2010, Darrick Wood converted to academy status and a new Sixth-Form building was completed.
In 2015, the secondary school was awarded the World Class Schools quality mark.
