Teacher of History required for maternity cover with potential for permanent appointment, starting January 2020
A full time teacher of History is required for January 2020 to teach a timetable comprised of KS3-KS5 classes. The candidate will join a very strong and successful department at an exciting and dynamic time at one of Surrey’s highest achieving schools. The vacancy would suit either an experienced teacher who can demonstrate a track record of success, a newly qualified teacher who is seeking to develop their career or someone wishing to begin their teaching career who possesses the willingness and ability become an outstanding teacher. The capacity to teach Politics may also be useful in the future, but dedicated Historians should not be discouraged from applying.
Salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience. The City of London Freemen’s School operates its own salary scale which is substantially above the national pay scales.

City of London Freemen’s School is a mixed, selective, non-denominational all-through school with sixth form situated in Ashtead, Surrey. It is an independent boarding school owned by the City of London Corporation, which provides 16 of its 22 governors. The school will provide 920 places for primary, secondary and sixth-form students aged 7-18, when fully subscribed.
City of London Freemen’s was founded in 1854 in Brixton, where it educated both boys and girls. It moved to its current Surrey location in 1926, expanding in size to accommodate increasing numbers of students.
