We require a committed and enthusiastic teacher to join our friendly and collaborative department, delivering the curriculum across the full range of age and ability. Applications are most welcome from experienced teachers and suitably qualified NQTs.
History is an extremely successful subject at Graveney School. We employ a range of dynamic teaching styles and are committed to innovative curriculum development. Our students study History for two hours a week from Year 7 to 9 and it is a popular subject at both GCSE and A level. We currently have over 300 students studying History for GCSE in Years 10 and 11 and last year, students achieved 92% A*-C at GCSE - well above the national average.
We have a large sixth form, with over 200 students studying History A level and again, results are well above the national average at Key Stage 5. A large number of our students go on to read History at university with many studying at Russell Group universities and Oxbridge.
Members of the department also teach Politics at A level and we welcome candidates who also have an interest in teaching this subject, although it is not a requirement.
This appointment would be suitable for an NQT or an experienced, qualified teacher.
Successful NQT applicants will be enrolled onto our enhanced NQT programme, designed to focus on subject-specific pedagogy and delivered by our experienced staff. It offers many additional benefits over and above a ‘normal’ NQT year, including:
- further reduced teaching load;
