Hyndland Secondary School seeks to appoint a highly motivated, experienced and dynamic individual with an excellent track record in Secondary teaching. We are looking for someone who can support the schools community develop learning and teaching and ensure that all pupils achieve their full potential. You must be committed, passionate and a well qualified staff member. We will support you to inspire the learning of our children and young people. In addition to the range of teaching and other duties outlined in the job specification we are looking for individuals who enjoy working collegiately with colleagues, and who have with a firm commitment to improving the outcomes for Glasgow's young people.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with GTCS Registration. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

Hyndland Secondary School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in the Hyndland residential area of the west end of Glasgow. It is state comprehensive school and is a member of the Hyndland New Learning Community, consisting of the school and many of its feeder primaries. It is the only school in Glasgow where uniform is not compulsory on a daily basis. A larger than average size for a school of its type, the school’s latest Education Scotland report identifies a school roll of 998 secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 11-18.
The school opened in 1887 before moving across a number of different sites. It has been based at its current site since 1972.

The school motto is “Spero Meliora”, translating as “I hope for better things”. High expectations is just one of many values and visions it sees as important. The ideal Hyndland student is responsible, respected and safe, while always keeping active, healthy and nurtured.
