Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of ICT and Business Studies on a full-time basis from September 2020. Both experienced and newly-qualified teachers are encouraged to apply. TLR opportunities may be available for exceptional candidates.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant, diverse school community with a relentless focus on high expectations and aspirations. It serves the families of the local community in the London Borough of Bexley and are part of a hard Federation of oversubscribed 3-18 schools in the South East of London.

Facilities at the school are first class, from the building itself to the resources which support the delivery of a broad curriculum including an extremely popular and well-maintained Learning Resource Centre. Its playing fields, gymnasium, drama theatre and ICT facilities all contribute to ensuring they deliver an education for character. The school is 30 minutes from London Bridge by train and the school’s proximity to the capital is a strong factor in enabling teachers to enhance the cultural experience for our pupils through enrichment activities.

The school wish to appoint an exceptional candidate to join the supportive environment of the Business Studies and ICT departments. Experience of delivering LiBF (Business) or Cambridge Nationals (ICT) would be an advantage. You will be a well-qualified and highly motivated individual who, as an enthusiastic and dynamic professional, is committed to delivering success. The school have an enviable professional development programme available, which allows all staff to develop in their role with opportunities for internal promotion throughout the Federation. You will be passionate about Business Studies and/or ICT and have a resolve to make a real difference to the pupils by planning, delivering, engaging and stimulating lessons whilst setting a level of challenge for all abilities across KS3- KS5.

Some Key Responsibilities:

  • To actively contribute to the teaching of Business Studies across all age and ability ranges
  • To actively contribute to the teacher of IT across all age and ability ranges
  • To work within and contribute to established Federation, School and Departmental frameworks for lesson planning, delivery and evaluation, student behaviour and care and student assessment
  • To remain informed of current developments in the subject area, to participate in INSET and to initiate change where appropriate
  • To devise innovative, challenging schemes of work
  • To ensure that students’ work is marked regularly and conscientiously, in accordance with the academy marking policy
  • To consistently plan and deliver good and outstanding lessons, ensuring that a variety of teaching resources are utilised
