Job overview

A rare opportunity has arisen to join our team in South Warwickshire’s beautiful, Tudor town of Henley-in-Arden. Where better to teach IT and Business than at the heart of the historic forest of Arden? IT and Business sit within the Faculty of Mathematics and Technology, so you will benefit from joining a large team of supportive colleagues. We’re fortunate that our medieval, market-town location means we attract motivated and enthusiastic students from across Solihull, South Warwickshire and Worcestershire.

Teacher of OCR Cambridge National Information Technologies / Enterprise & Marketing
MPS/UPS - TLR 2a (£2638) available for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate

Full time – September 2018

We’re looking forward to reading letters of application from experienced teachers, or from newly qualified entrants to the profession; NQTs enjoy a full programme of support, or for more experienced colleagues, we are delighted to be able to offer access to National College leadership programmes through our Teaching School partnerships, including NPQML and NPQSL. A TLR may be available for experienced candidates seeking additional leadership responsibility.

Celebrating a third, consecutive year of record results that this year places us in the top 20% of schools, teachers that are passionate about teaching and learning will thrive here – join us in our relentless pursuit of ‘Achieving Excellence Together’.

The person appointed will teach National Curriculum Computing in Y7-8 and both Information Technologies, and Enterprise & Marketing in Years 9-11.

Visits are welcome (and encouraged!) so that you may see for yourself why Ofsted recently reported that our thriving students have ‘…good attitudes to their work and are well behaved’ and that, ‘pupil attainment remains high and above national averages…[and] pupils make good progress across a wide range of subjects’ (November 2017).

For an informal chat about this exciting opportunity, please contact Miss Emma Gault, Head of Faculty, on 01564 792364. There's also plenty to see on our website at http://www.henleyschool.com/current-vacancies if you're hoping to glimpse a flavour of what a special place this is to work.

Our school application form is available by clicking 'Apply Now' on TES or on our own website (please do not use the Warwickshire LA format), which should be accompanied by a supporting letter of application (no more than two sides of A4). Should you have any queries about the application process, wish to arrange a visit, or to submit your application, please contact Mrs Sally Smith, School Secretary, on 01564 797550 /  ssmith@henleyschool.com

The closing date for applications is Monday 15 October 2018 at 12 midday. Interviews will take place w/b Monday 15 October 2018.

We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced teachers (potential TLR available) for this post.

Henley-in-Arden School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and it expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS including a Children’s Barred List check.

Our Vision

'Achieving Excellence Together'.

We pride ourselves in knowing our pupils and parents. We work hard to ensure each and every pupil achieves his or her potential by meeting their individual needs and personalising the curriculum. We provide a high quality education that encourages creativity and supports excellence and achievement.

Our aim is to equip young people to make the most of their abilities and the opportunities offered to become competent and confident world citizens. We want our students to be rational, independent thinkers who are sensitive, caring of others, willing to accept responsibility and who use their talents for the good of society as a whole.

We aim to make education an enjoyable experience which will help develop a life-long love of learning. Henley aims to be a school where excellent relationships based on mutual respect provide a happy atmosphere in which pupils thrive.

Our Vision is achieved through the commitment and quality of the teachers and support staff, working in close partnership with parents in a caring and open manner. We celebrate achievement and believe young people flourish when there is security, good self-discipline and a strong code of conduct. We have the highest expectations of all members of our community.

We aim for:

  • Excellence in every lesson
  • Excellence for, and from, every pupil
  • Excellence in the details
  • Excellence in customer service
  • Excellent levels of excitement
