Teacher of Mathematics.

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive SEN school, based in Essex. The school is looking to add a Teacher of Mathematics to its progressive and supportive Maths Department ideally starting ASAP.

The role will include teaching and coordinating the delivery of Mathematics at KS3, GCSE and A-level. You will support the Head of Maths to enhance provision and will get the chance to get involved with exciting project work throughout the year. Project work will include revising schemes of work and ensuring the curriculum is engaging to all learners alongside projects that support student attainment, well-being and engagement within the wider school. You’ll also lead by example, supporting learners to achieve to the best of their ability and you’ll enjoy that great feeling when your learners achieve grades beyond their dreams.

We are looking for ambitious candidates, with a minimum of one year’s experience, who want to get involved, have their ideas heard, can influence and coach Teachers and Teaching Assistants and whose main priority is creating a safe and secure environment for young people to learn. Previous experience with Autism is not essential as the school offers outstanding induction and ongoing professional development. We are looking for qualified teachers for this position and those with specific core Maths curriculum experience would be essential.

The school will have up to 62 pupils aged 11-18 who have a primary diagnosis of Autism. Our dedicated team, works together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils  In classes on no more than seven, supported by teaching assistants, a pastoral team and a clinical team."

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• a relevant Maths Degree or a related subject

• experience of delivering Maths up to A-level pushing and engaging learners to progress within the subject

• a love and passion for education.
