Rethinking education, helping tomorrow’s citizens flourish.
Fixed Term to August 2020
Drawing upon our partnership with the University of Birmingham and their world-leading research and best-practice resources, focusing on learning without limits, and combining our own diverse experience in education, the University of Birmingham School is setting an example of what’s truly possible for secondary school education – one that gives character development as much attention as academic success.
As the University of Birmingham School approaches full capacity in 2020, we again need to recruit well-qualified, talented and ambitious teachers who are committed to self-improvement with the skills and enthusiasm to work closely within their departments to support the further development of their subject in the School.
We will have high expectations of you to be an outstanding role model committed to the distinctive ethos of our School. In return, we will recognise your contribution through an enhanced package of pay and benefits subject to performance.
The University of Birmingham School Mathematics department consists of twelve secondary teachers, one primary trained teacher and a Lead Numeracy coach.
Classes are taught in groups of mixed prior attainment. At Key Stage 4 the students are studying the EdExcel GCSE 9-1 qualification.
The department also teaches approximately 80 year 12 Mathematicians and 70 year 13 Mathematicians, in addition to a Further Mathematics group in each year group. A level examinations also follow the EdExcel scheme.
