Job overview
We are a specialist Trust for Key Stage 1 - 4 students who have an EHCP which states that they have social and emotional mental health needs or Communication Needs.
We have established our own small internal alternative provision for those young people in Key Stage 3 and 4 who find schools difficult places to cope with. The appointed teacher would teach Mathematics to these young people on an individual or small group basis. They would also teach Mathematics to a small group of post-16 students to help ensure they gain national qualification in this subject.
The with the ability to enliven the subject to meet a range of needs. Due to the nature of our young people and historic gaps in education, this post requires a good knowledge and understanding of the subject and exam frameworks to identify gaps in learning and provide accurate individualised targets main personal attributes we are looking for is the capacity to enthuse, engage and inspire our young people through a deep understanding of the curriculum content and concepts to ensure pupils progress and learning are in line with their mainstream peers. This post represents an excellent opportunity for either a teacher eager to enter special school teaching or someone already experienced in this sphere of education.
