The Headteacher and Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic Maths teacher to join Robertsbridge Community College. The post is open to both NQTs and experienced teachers.  

Visited by Ofsted in February 2017, the College maintained its ‘Good’ status, with the official report stating the following; “New teachers feel very well supported and all staff value the helpful opportunities for professional development in a culture of encouragement.”  

The mathematics department is high achieving, innovative and enthusiastic. Under the visionary leadership of the Head of Department, GCSE results for the last two years have been consistently very high 70+% at 9-4 and 50%+at 9-5 putting the department in the highest  percentiles for  progress measures.  The department’s success has been recognised nationally and there are many opportunities for career development in this forward thinking and high achieving College. The ability to teach mathematics across both Key Stage 3 and 4 is essential.

Robertsbridge Community College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Robertsbridge, East Sussex. There are approximately 650 students at the school between 11-16 years. 

Formerly Robertsbridge County Secondary School, the school opened in 1955. It closed in 1993 but re-opened in the same year as Robertsbridge Community College. It holds specialist status in mathematics and computing.

Robertson Community College wants all pupils to develop into independent and creative learners in a supportive and inspiring learning environment. The school wishes for students to grow into confident citizens, who are fully prepared for life in a modern and ever changing world. The East Sussex secondary school's vision is for students to enjoy learning and to become independent learners and recognise their talents and interests, while being supported by nurturing staff. The school follows six core values: progress, responsibility, confidence, engagement and respect. An inclusive community ethos is built through the school encouraging a strong partnership with parents. Students are encouraged to gain skills and interests outside of the classroom and a wide range of extra-curricular activities are on offer, ranging from sports to music club. Leadership is valued by the school and students have the opportunity to apply for a place on its active Student Council.
