The Governors are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, well qualified and ambitious Teacher of Maths, to join a vibrant and happy school where staff are committed to raising student attainment.
St Cuthbert Mayne School is a Joint Roman Catholic & Church of England School that welcomes all students from across Torbay and South Devon regardless of their faith background. Our school community is made up of students and staff from Christian and non-Christian backgrounds.
There are currently 909 on roll, including 138 students in the Sixth Form. The teaching accommodation is of mixed age but well-resourced and maintained.
It is an exciting time to be joining the school as we start the next phase of our journey to provide an outstanding, inspirational and challenging Christian education for all students. Our children only get one chance! As a result we have a relentless focus to ensure that our children get access to the best possible teaching through a vibrant and engaging curriculum so that they live life to the full both now and in the future. If you want to work in a school that is committed to developing you as a teacher through high quality professional development programme and you want to make a difference to the life chances of our children then we want to hear from you.
The latest Ofsted Inspection in November 2016 graded the school to be good, in every category. The statutory inspection of Anglican/Catholic Schools also conducted in November, graded the school to be good in all areas. Both reports can be found on the website www.st-cuthbertmayne.co.uk.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, inspirational Maths teacher to join a hardworking and dedicated team. The department currently consists of 8 experienced specialist teachers. They are based across 6 classrooms in one block, which is shared with ICT, so bookable computer rooms are available. All classrooms have SMART interactive whiteboards and walk in resources areas. We run a 3 year key stage 4 for Maths, where students follow the Edexcel exam board. In Key Stage 5, A level Maths and Further Maths runs.
Opportunities to teach up to Key Stage 5 but not essential.
