Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Mathematics on a full-time permanent basis from September 2021. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a 11-16 academy based in the friendly, cathedral city of Wakefield in West Yorkshire, near Leeds. The academy benefits from being part of a renown family of schools, which affords opportunities for staff to work and progress across several schools if desired. All staff are guaranteed a minimum of two hours CPD per week and a further comprehensive programme of professional development is provided through our own network of teaching schools.

The school are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to join their Maths department from September 2021. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who really wants to make a difference to the lives of young people. For teachers of Maths and Physics, there are retention payments for those in the first five years of their career (£2,000).
The Successful Candidate:
- A degree in an appropriate discipline related to Maths
- Teaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A strong and secure subject knowledge in Maths up to GCSE
- Awareness of the strategies available for improving the learning and achievement of all students
- A good understanding of curriculum developments in the specific subject area
- Recent and relevant teaching experience in employment or training
- Experience of assessment at Key Stage 3 and 4
- Able to use a range of teaching and learning strategies
- An understanding for how Assessment for Learning can improve student performance
