About Fyling Hall School
Located in the coastal village of Robin Hood’s Bay, North Yorkshire, Fyling Hall School is an independent day and boarding school first established in 1923. Co-educational, the school offers places to students aged 4-18 and has a student body of less than 200, making it smaller than the average school of its type. Fyling Hall School accepts both day pupils and boarders, with a roughly even split between the two. The school site occupies 45 acres of land, around an old Georgian manor house, and can boast of an extensive range of facilities such as dedicated sports fields and a number of modern teaching resources.

Values and Vision
Fyling Hall School works hard to provide a range of bursaries for parents in order to aid with the cost of tuition for their child, with admission to the school being non-selective academically. The school nonetheless maintains high academic standards for its students, providing a curriculum built around high-quality core subjects and a range of well-resourced extra-curricular activities. Fyling Hall also strives to create a sense of community around the school, particularly among boarding students, many of whom are international.
ISI Inspection
“The pupils’ personal development is outstanding; from the earliest age they are willing to take on responsibility. Older pupils look after younger ones and the whole school community works as a large family. The pupils’ personal development is fully supported by excellent pastoral care and by arrangements to ensure their welfare, health and safety. Risk assessments are detailed, and there is a robust safeguarding policy in place.”
