The Role

This is a great opportunity for either an experienced teacher or for a first teaching role. 

Department

Our Mathematics department is a team of nine specialist mathematicians who all teach across the age and ability range.  Chew Valley School is fully committed to maths education.

School

Chew Valley School is located in a stunning 30 acre rural site overlooking Chew Valley Lake, between Bath and Bristol. Our school opened in 1958 and is a fully comprehensive, regularly oversubscribed school for over 1170 students including 200 in the Sixth Form.

Chew Valley School is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Chew Magna, Bristol, Somerset. It is a community state school with a catchment area covering nine primary schools. It is part of the North Somerset Teaching Alliance, a group of schools led by Backwell School. 

A larger than average school, Chew Valley provides 1,253 places for secondary and sixth-form students between the ages of 11 and 18 when fully subscribed. The school opened in 1958 and has been educating the local community for 60 years.

Highly effective leadership of the sixth form ensures that all students make rapid and sustained progress. The numbers securing places at university, including Oxford and Cambridge, are high.”
