Saracens High School is a new secondary school which opened in September 2018 for 156 Year 7 pupils, growing each year until the school is full in 2024. The school is located in the Colindale area of North London.
We are looking for an exceptional Mathematics teacher, experienced or newly qualified, to join our Mathematics team at Saracens High School. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting and growing subject area, in the second year of the school’s life. We are committed to a Mastery and knowledge-rich curriculum, in which depth of understanding, mathematical fluency and language are key. Pupils become familiar with multiple representations, are confident linking concepts between topics, and are encouraged to justify their methods and reasoning. Our school values of hard work, humility, discipline and honesty are embedded in our lessons and our approach as mathematicians.
Our Mastery curriculum is mapped over 5 years, covering year 7 to 11, providing consistency of language and concepts, and ensuring that pupils are always deepening prior knowledge and understanding. We teach KS3 in mixed ability classes, drawing on the language of the Learning Pit to ensure that all pupils are both challenged and supported, and to embed a growth mindset culture.
The successful applicant will have a record of outstanding teaching in their classroom, be committed to helping shape a growing team and be aligned with the values that underpin all we do at Saracens High School.
You will be helping to create a distinctive culture and philosophy so that from the moment someone enters the school, they will know this is where the learner is empowered to “be the best that they can possibly be”. The individual abilities of each pupil are recognised and where coaching for life skills as well as academic excellence is at the core of all we do.
