The Northworthy Trust are inviting applications for the posts of Teacher of Maths at Merrill Academy in Derby.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and ambitious team, who are committed to improving attainment levels across the Academy through their passion for teaching and learning.  

The successful applicant will be professional, adaptable and dedicated to delivering high quality teaching.  You will have strong communication skills and will be able to work well within a team, yet be able to demonstrate an ability to utilise your own initiative effectively.  You will be motivated and resilient and be able to demonstrate the skills required to effectively manage behavior and engage students in their learning.  There are opportunities for further career development, with the postholder being able to apply for a range of TLR3 points within the Faculty, within Pastoral Support and for extracurricular provision, from September 2020.  Applications from Teachers of Maths who can deliver Business Studies are desirable.  

Merrill Academy, as our Ofsted report highlights, is on a journey of transition.  Since the regrading in spring, significant positive steps have been made and a culture shift is evolving under the new Headteacher.  All staff at the Academy enjoy the benefits of CPD and the post holder will enjoy working in a caring and supportive environment at Merrill Academy.
