Values and vision

Heathfield Community College has a strong sense of community spirit, plus a culture of high expectations and mutual respect. It believes in the importance of partnership between pupils, parents and school staff, in order to help children achieve their goals. The school's large size means it offers a great range of facilities for students, from a floodlit all-weather astroturf pitch to an IT centre with "genius bar".

Heathfield provides pupils with a broad and balanced curriculum, and the school holds a gold Artsmark for its success in the arts.

Ofsted report

“The strong pastoral system nurtures good working relationships between staff and pupils, and ensures that all pupils' pastoral and welfare needs are given careful support, alongside their academic requirements. Staff morale is very high and there is a sense of pride in the quality of learning in the school among staff and pupils. Pupils and sixth formers confidently welcome visitors, are proud to share their work and enjoy working with their teachers. Displays of high-quality work in corridors and classrooms celebrate the high standards that pupils are achieving.”
