We are currently looking to appoint a qualified Teacher of Maths to join our dynamic vibrant team of specialists. We look for teachers who are resilient, highly driven and self-motivated, who will go the extra mile to ensure that students achieve beyond their own expectations.

If you are passionate about education and have a flair for working with young people, why not join us? Our Maths Team aims to offer all students a broad and varied experience of maths education and mathematical literacy, through an inclusive metacognitive curriculum.

The Team is well resourced with equipment, and in addition draws on the expertise of a specialist Maths Consultant provided through the TKAT Trust. The team runs extra-curricular sessions and uses a wide range of teaching and learning strategies to promote progress and celebrate the diversity of our students.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
  • Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice)
  • Show an understanding of the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
  • Understand the importance of having high expectations for all students, both of behaviour and academic achievement
  • Understand inclusive provision and practices which offer equality of access to the curriculum for all students, including SEND, EAL and high achievers.

We are part of a family of schools within the Kemnal Academies Trust. Every week staff take part in 2 hours of Debden Minds which is a bespoke CPD programme focusing primarily on the development of teaching & learning. We provide exceptional career progression for staff, which leads to our Middle and Senior Leadership teams being composed of many teachers who began their career with us. We lead the Essex hub of the TKAT SCITT.

TKAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Offers of employment will be subject to the full Safer Recruitment process, including an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.

TKAT is committed to equality of opportunity. We welcome applications from all suitable candidates, regardless of any protected characteristic for example race, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age. Debden Park High School "Because we believe you can......" Our school's aim is to provide an excellent education in a safe supportive learning environment, one where people are valued and make positive contributions to the school community, and where students go on to become responsible, independent members of society.  Debden Park High School was established in September 1999 on a tiny site in Chigwell, before moving to its current buildings in September 2001.  We are very proud of our school, of our outstanding facilities and impressive surroundings, and it is a real privilege to work here. At the heart of everything we do are our students.  Our curriculum is student-centred and we aim for their education to be inspiring, stimulating and challenging.  Our staff are appointed for their passion, their enthusiasm and their imagination in communicating with children to ensure that every single child in their classes is engaged, excited and challenged by the learning experience at all times.  Our vision is to empower students so that they are able to take control of their own future and have enhanced life chances as a result of learning with us.  We are academically ambitious for our students and with the opening of our sixth form in September 2015 and our fantastic new sixth form building, The Hive, in September 2016, we are excited at now having the opportunity to nurture their love of learning into A Levels and beyond.    We want our students to become independent learners, who are critical in their thinking, informed in their choices and confident in their ability to succeed in the modern world, who are respectful and tolerant, driven and confident and who strive for the best.  In addition to their academic lives we also want our students to benefit from extra curricular experiences in the arts, sport and culture which will help them become well rounded balanced adults. We are also extremely proud of our status as a Teaching School and of the role we play in developing motivated, passionate and outstanding teachers and visionary leaders.  We work in collaboration with King Harold School in Waltham Abbey and this partnership has at its heart a drive for success.  Through learning across both schools, all will be inspired, challenged and prepared to embrace the modern world.

Helen Gascoyne, Head of school          Christian Cavanagh, Executive Headteacher
