Job overview

The Hereford Church of England Academy is year 11-16 Secondary School located on the edge of the Hereford, close to the beautiful Herefordshire countryside and the Wye Valley AONB. The City of Hereford is growing with a new University, a rapidly developing enterprise zone, new retail & leisure destinations and a thriving independent food & retail sector.

The Hereford Church of England Academy is part of the Diocese of Hereford Multi Academy Trust. The Trust and the school have new leadership and governance and are on a journey to rapidly improve outcomes for students.

The school building is modern with first class facilities, extensive sports provision including a 3G pitch and a dedicated drama & arts studio.

The Academy community is committed to its core values of Aspiration, Care, Trust, Resilience, and Respect. Our vision is to equip all our students to be well-rounded and caring citizens who will make a positive contribution to society. We do this by providing the best possible education and serving the whole community of all faiths and none.

The Academy’s most recent OFSTED monitoring visit highlighted the improvements evident since the new Head Teacher joined the school in June 2019. Leaders had addressed weaknesses in the curriculum, introduced new assessment procedures and a new PSHE programme which has encouraged pupil’s sense of belonging.

Leaders have been successful in improving behaviour, attitudes and attendance. Inspectors recognised the clear and united purpose shared by the Trust board, governors & school leaders. There is now a persuasive vision and clear expectations of the education the school should provide.
