Closing the Gap Coordinator for Maths (Achievement)

We are now seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Maths to join our dedicated, successful and well-resourced Maths department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading further improvements in standards within the faculty in closing the gap for our pupil premium students. You will be expected to work collaboratively with pastoral leaders at all levels to support the achievement of pupil premium students, ensuring no students are left behind.
The successful candidate will join a team committed to delivering a stimulating curriculum and maximising the potential of all learners through outstanding learning and teaching. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a track record of high quality classroom practice, with a clear impact on student outcomes (especially the outcomes of pupil premium students) and a strong team ethic.
Maths is one of the school’s strongest departments and has an excellent reputation for student outcomes. Furthermore the department is at the forefront of developing Learning & Teaching within the school. The successful candidate will be expected to share the team’s drive, ambition and reflective practice.
Honley High School has a strong reputation locally for academic excellence. Pupils at Honley make “above average” progress compared with pupils of similar abilities in other schools and in 2017 we recorded a progress 8 figure of +0.17
