Teacher of Maths

Lodge Park Academy is now recruiting for a Mathematics teacher to start September 2022.

Maths is a popular subject and the department is well organised and supportive of the curriculum aims. The outcomes for students in the subject are rising and the numbers of students choosing to stay on and study A Level Mathematics in the 6th form is growing.

Lodge Park Academy require and ambitious Maths teacher who will contribute further to the department with their knowledge, skills and outstanding teaching. We require dedicated staff who go above and beyond to ensure the experiences and outcomes for our pupils are world class.

Lodge Park Academy is a 11-19 Secondary school in Corby, Northamptonshire with approx. 1000 students on roll. Serving local families since 1963, Lodge Park Academy sits at the heart of our community. The town of Corby in situated in the North of the county and is close to the market towns of Stamford, Uppingham, Oakham and Market Harborough.  There are good transport links to the South East and the city of Leicester is only a 35 minute drive. 

About the role

You will be required to be an effective teacher (and tutor) who supports and challenges all students to achieve their full potential

32.5 hours per week.

Who we are looking for

A good degree in mathematics.

Nationally recognised teaching qualification

The ability to deliver mathematics lessons to a high standard achieving excellent academic outcomes for our students.

The ability to teach mathematics at Key Stage 3 and 4 with the ability to teach at KS5 being desirable.

A very good classroom teacher, demonstrating ability to innovate.

Understanding of current curriculum issues in relation to teaching and in particular teaching mathematics.

A person who uses evidence to guide practice and is well informed about current pedagogy and curriculum issues.

Able to show evidence of the use of technology in teaching and learning.

Committed to working co-operatively with young people; able to communicate sensitively, imaginatively and effectively with them.

Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Able to motivate and encourage young people to solve problems as well as solve problems themselves.

Able to communicate effectively with parents to represent the Academy positively and feedback information as appropriate.
