Job overview

This post is suitable for a NQT or an experienced teacher.

Cox Green is a well-established co-educational Academy school, situated in the heart of the community of Cox Green, Maidenhead. We have been graded “good” by Ofsted and are oversubscribed year on year; testimony to the quality of teaching and learning we provide. As one of the top performing schools in the area we take pride in getting the most out of each of our students. Last year 75% of our GCSE students achieved grades 4+ in Maths with 25% achieving grades 7-9. Visitors comment on the excellent relationships that exist and that student behaviour is very good. Our students thrive in an environment committed to achievement, supported by our team of excellent teachers and pastoral staff.

Maths at Cox Green School is a thriving and highly successful department. Currently we have 8 full-time members in the department and are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher due to the expansion of the school in recent years. Members of the department work hard to ensure students meet their maximum potential and they provide opportunities for independent learning with students of all abilities. Ideas are shared between the members regularly and the post will suit a candidate that can work closely with other mathematicians to improve their own practice as well as contribute to the development of others. Mathematics is the most popular A level choice for our students. Candidates are encouraged and are welcome to visit the school and the department to promote a better understanding of what is being offered first hand.

We are seeking a passionate teacher who is able to deliver excellent lessons that are exciting, engaging and inclusive. Suitable for an NQT or an experienced teacher. An experienced teacher would ideally have proven experience of teaching at KS3, KS4 and KS5. An interest in transition KS2 to KS3 and knowledge of primary curriculum would be welcomed.

We place great emphasis on staff professional development and we offer outstanding training and support. Cox Green School also takes a leading role in the Teach Maidenhead programme, the region's teacher training provider.
