
Teacher of Media/Film (Vocational/A Level)

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative, energetic and innovative teacher to work in the Media, Culture and Technology department. We are looking for an outstanding classroom practitioner that can further enhance the subject specialist team and continue to inspire the students within the area.
As a teacher in the department, you will work within a successful team of 10 teachers delivering a range of courses including Media (Creative and Digital Technologies) Diploma, Media (Production) Diploma, IT, Level 2 Media, A Level Media and Film Studies A Level. There are over 700 students that study within the faculty.
The successful candidate will have the skillset and adaptability to deliver both examined content and portfolio based materials with a strong emphasis on developing the individual student. They will also have the ability to inspire and develop others and be dedicated to raising the standard of teaching and using a range of strategies to deliver continued success.
A strong teaching background across the curriculum would be advantageous, as well as an excellent understanding of creative software, particularly the Adobe Suite and other creative applications. It would also be beneficial to have knowledge of the Google Education Suite for delivering lessons, monitoring progress and for assessment of learning.
The department is growing, particularly in the Creative vocational pathways. Students across all subjects have access to dedicated classrooms with relevant software and are supported by a Technician. Within the department, we also have two study spaces for independent learning. There is also a large TV/Photography Studio on-site and a Radio Suite with live broadcasts on community radio station Unity 101 weekly. As a department we are committed to providing a safe and engaging space where students want to contribute to the wider College and community.
Please note that this role is likely to include online/remote teaching and learning.
