Job overview

We are looking to recruit a strong MFL specialist to teach across Key Stage 3 and 4. We provide three languages (French, German and Spanish) across both Key Stages. We would welcome applications from both experienced practitioners and NQT’s.

We are seeking a driven and dedicated teacher who will engage, enthuse and challenge students to achieve their best. Our ideal candidate will be a creative thinker who will possess the ability to develop innovative teaching strategies in order to inspire our students and help them to foster a love of Languages.

Barnsley Academy is a rapidly improving school, the successful candidate will be joining us at an exciting time in our development following our recent Ofsted report noting the strength in both outcomes and teaching within Languages. Both the academy and department are ambitious; we know that we have the skills, drive and support to provide an outstanding learning experience for our students.

Barnsley Academy is part of United Learning, a large and growing group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England. Schools within United Learning work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. By collecting expertise and combining resources, we help to make the tough job of teaching a little easier. With a shared curriculum and lesson plans from around the group available to all, our teachers have strong foundations to lead the engaging, rounded education our children deserve. Our intranet site, United Hub, is just one example of how we share this resource and communicate across sites, helping to simplify processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance. We reward our staff: with wide career opportunities – between Primary and Secondary, Academy and Independent – better pay, benefits, and ultimately the satisfaction of helping every child at each of our schools to succeed and reach their full potential.

We encourage applicants to visit the academy before applying, please contact Karen Jones, PA at karen.jones@barnsley-academy.org to organise a visit.

Barnsley Academy reserves the right to withdraw this advert subject to finding a suitable candidate prior to closing date. Barnsley Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants.
