The Academy

Nunthorpe is a very popular outstanding co-educational 11 – 19 comprehensive converter Academy with approximately 1550 students on roll.

Nunthorpe Academy is the lead Teaching School in the North East Schools Teaching Alliance – NESTA. Through this ‘school led’ system of self-improvement we focus on the key areas of School to School Support; Professional Development; Specialist Leaders of Education and Initial Teacher Training & Succession Planning 

The Department

Nunthorpe Academy’s MFL Faculty is an experienced and established team, comprised of 4 full time teachers, 3 part time teachers and a Faculty Support Assistant. 

The faculty offers students GCSE French, German and Spanish at KS4 and AS/A2 French, German and Spanish at KS5.

The Candidate

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, well-qualified teacher of Modern Foreign languages, to contribute to the development of a strong and effective department.

The applicant must have a French specialism and the energy and commitment to teach pupils of all ages and abilities up to, and including, GCSE. 

The ability to teach other languages, including. Key stage 4 Spanish and or Key stage 3 German, would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will have the ability and potential to deliver consistently outstanding lessons at Key stage 3, GCSE and possibly A Level; and be ambitious for the achievement of every student in their care.

Nunthorpe Academy is part of Nunthorpe Multi Academy Trust (NMAT). 

Nunthorpe Academy is a mainstream, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough, and has over 1600 students.
