The International College at The King’s School, Canterbury, opened in September 2018 and is the latest addition to the educational provision of The King’s School, Canterbury, which also includes The King’s School and The Junior King’s School.

We specialise in providing a soft landing in UK boarding for international students from around the world, preparing them for further GCSE and A level studies in the UK. We cater for Year 9, Year 10, and Year 11 students, with our most popular programme being the Year 11 one-year GCSE course that allows students to gain these vital qualifications in just one academic year.

We are looking for an energetic Music Teacher to lead academic and extra-curricular Music at the College. The subject is taught as a core subject in Year 9 and Year 10, while students in Year 11 may choose it as one of their elective subjects on the one-year GCSE programme.

As a “one-person department”, applicants should have initiative, enjoy problem solving, and be confident in leading the musical life at the College. This will include the organisation and running of choirs and ensembles, as well as liaising with visiting instrumental teachers and colleagues in the senior school.

We invite applications from NQTs and experienced teachers who enjoy working with international students and bring empathy and dedication to the role. Currently the role is 0.7 FTE, but as we reach student capacity over the coming years, this will develop into an FT role. Please read the attached job descriptions for further information.

Applications, including a CV and covering letter, should be addressed to the College Principals, Bill and Jo Prior, and be submitted online at: www.international.kings-school.co.uk

If you have any difficulties applying, please contact the HR Department: 01227 595733.
