Peripatetic Teacher of Percussion

Part time, to commence September 2019

A well-qualified and enthusiastic Percussion teacher is required to join a large, flourishing and dynamic department for one day teaching per week, on Mondays.  The teaching day includes the coaching of some percussion ensembles.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach pupils at all levels, from 8-18. The majority of pupils learn the drum kit, with others taking up orchestral percussion.   The school is able to provide a large teaching space with access to a full range of very well-maintained tuned and untuned orchestral percussion instruments, including drum kit. 

The post holder will need to schedule thirty lessons for each pupil over the course of an academic year.  The teacher will need to complete reports once a year and to attend the visiting music teachers’ annual parents’ evening.
