This is an opportunity for an outstanding Philosophy, Religion and Ethics teacher to play a key role providing maternity cover in a high performing department within a highly successful independent day school for girls.
You will teach Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level Philosophy, Religion and Ethics and cover topics such as the six major religious groups of the world and ethical theories and moral issues such as peace and conflict and religion and the environment.
There will also be the opportunity to teach A-level content such as Philosophy of Religion, Religious Ethics or Islamic studies, depending on your prior subject knowledge and experience. This can be decided in consultation with the Head of Department.
You will be joining an ambitious and forward-looking department which aims to equip pupils with the skills and attitudes necessary for life in a multicultural and pluralist society. We encourage pupils to develop and express their own understanding of the moral, spiritual and philosophical aspects of life, whilst considering the beliefs and opinions of others.
We welcome applications from well qualified candidates as well as those working towards qualified teacher status. If you have excellent subject knowledge and the ability to inspire, excite and motivate pupils, we would be delighted to hear from you.
